WALKING UP THE OPPOSITE RAIL
Now that we can hit the corner pocket from anywhere, it would be wise of us to figure out how to hit that elusive ball on the opposite rail. I put emphasis on hitting the ball because that is the first step to learning how to make it! Baby steps kids, baby steps!
Precisely! Take note how the line coming into the rail comes into it AT the diamond which makes the contact point on the rail right behind where your Object Ball will be sitting! MENTAL NOTE! MENTAL NOTE!
You know from the first drill that your margin of error will most likely give you a hit on the first diamond Object-ball. That’ll be ok for now but by the end of this book that shot should be expected to be made 90% of the time! O yes, 90%!
Once your Object-ball reaches the side pocket you should be trying to pocket the Object-ball there, not in the corner. Beyond the side pocket you should focus on speed. This is a great defensive move to an 8 ball close to the rail for a hook or double hit foul opportunity for your opponent.
